The designer's been working on the range for two years and is firm proof that athleisure is here to staythough you won't hear her using that exact term. "We did a concept of 'coming and going,' which is our version of athleisure. It's how we think women are dressing, and we wanted to give them some options to go to yoga and then pull on a skirt and go out to lunch," Burch told us, referencing the striped below-the-knee skirt she was wearing as a perfect transitional piece. "Women are wearing leggings all day so we wanted to give them options. You could wear this over leggings." It was paramount for Burch and co. that Tory Sport be seen as a separate entity, not just a diffusion brand or lower-priced sister to her main line.
