Original Item: Only One Available. This is a fantastic piece of World War Two Naval history! Bells manufactured during the height of the second World War were cast in iron due to a limitation of bronze and brass for actual combat essentials. However, this bell is cast in Brass marked U.S. This is a classic United States Navy quarterdeck bell. The bell is cast iron and retains its original finish. The bell is embossed U.S. on the lower rim. The bell measures a base diameter of 9 1/2 inches and a height of 9 inches. Retains its original bell clapper. It weighs approximately 20 pounds. Inside it is engraved "Made by Robert A. Nagle". We have found no information on that. This impressive Navy bell is well preserved and would make a nice addition to a military maritime collection. Plus when you ring it, its LOUD!
