The new 51 is identical in silhouette to the original. The shape of the nib and the way in which the pen closes is different. The nib is not tube-shaped but has a traditional nib, but this nib is completely hidden in the front part of the pen. This construction ensures that the pen always starts easily and does not dry out quickly. Furthermore, the new Parker 51 has a screw cap.
