The Waratah Undies and Period Undies are specifically designed to fit large bodies. They feature a wide gusset, full coverage, comfy elastic at the waist, and a choice of fold over or picot elastic at the leg openings. They sit at the belly button and the back rise is slightly higher for perfect coverage.
The period undies have a large pad suitable for day wear or overnight. The level of absorbency is completely customizable.
This pattern is suitable for sewing on a home sewing machine and doesn't require a serger/overlocker. The illustrated instructions give directions for sewing the undies using the zig zag stitch function on your machine!
Alternatively, you can use serger/overlocker for the seams, but you will also need to use a zigzag stitch to apply the elastic and finish the gusset.

Please select your size based on your hip measurement, you can customize the sizing in the waist when you apply the waist elastic.
The undies are designed to sit lower at the front than the back. This helps to prevent camel-toe.
As with any garment, we recommend making a toile/muslin out of inexpensive material before cutting into your fashion fabric. This is especially important for undies because everyone’s body and preferences are different!

Fabric & Notions
Suggested Fabric:
This pattern is designed for use with 4-way stretch fabrics. Stretch and recovery should be equal in both the horizontal and vertical directions. Suggested fabrics are: cotton/spandex, bamboo/spandex, merino/spandex.
Period undies also require wicking fabric(we suggest merino, or sport polyester), absorbent fabric (ZorbTM, towelling, flannelette), and a barrier fabric (PUL, Gore-TexTM, any other waterproof membrane)
